Dr Choudhary has clinical and research interests in the mechanisms and management of hypoglycemia unawareness and the use of education and technology, especially new insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, in the management of diabetes. He is work-package lead for the Hypo-RESOLVE consortium and Principal Investigator of a large, multinational study evaluating the biological and psychosocial impacts of sensor-detected hypoglycemia. Dr Choudhary is Chair of the Diabetes Technology Network – UK, Medical Advisor to the Department of Transport, Associate Editor for Diabetic Medicine, and member of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Postgraduate education committee.

Dr. Mark Clements is Chief Medical Officer at Glooko Inc and is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He is also a clinical researcher of new diabetes treatments and technologies, having served as a principal investigator or co-investigator in more than 30 clinical studies and patient registries. He has served as chair for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Clinic Registry, and currently serves as data science co-lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative. Dr. Clements’ research interests include studying “big data in type 1 diabetes (including electronic health records data, national and international registry data), understanding the relationship between glucose variability and diabetes-related complications, the identification of novel predictors of risk for diabetes-related complications, prevention of type 1 diabetes (through participation in TrialNet), the use of advanced machine learning and natural language processing to quality-improve type 1 diabetes care, the development of mHealth/digital health interventions to improve type 1 diabetes care, and health system interventions to promote data mobility in type 1 diabetes care.

Claudio Cobelli is Emeritus Professor of Bioengineering, University of Padova. From 2000 to 2011 he has been Chairman of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering and the Ph.D. Program in Bioengineering at the University of Padova. His research activity is in modeling and technology of diabetes. His research is supported by NIH, JDRF and European Comunity. He has published 743 papers in internationally refereed journals http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=cobelli%20c (co-author of 8 books and holds 10 patents with an h-index of 90, citations 34486 (Scopus). He is Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Biomedical Engineering and Journal of Diabetes Science & Technology, and on the Editorial Board of Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics. Dr.Cobelli has been Chairman (1999-2004) of the Italian Bioengineering Group, Chairman (1990-1993 & 1993-1996) of IFAC TC on Modeling and Control of Biomedical Systems. In 2010 he received the Diabetes Technology Artificial Pancreas Research Award. He is Fellow of IEEE and BMES.
