Session Description
Current challenges and future development of telemedicine for the follow-up of patients with chronic pathology - Industry Symposium Supported by Glooko Inc.

Session Description:

1 - Remote monitoring as a tool for improving care for people with diabetes: the French experience

Pr Charles Thivolet examines the impact of remote monitoring for clinicians to observe the outcome in terms of improvement of care, operational efficiency of care teams and financial impacts. The objective of this session is to highlight best practices that facilitate an effective remote monitoring programme in treating people with diabetes. In particular, Pr Thivolet draws on the case of France and its ÉTAPES experiment which will now be incorporated into common law from July 2022.

2 - The Use of AI, Machine Learning, and Digital Therapeutics for Behavioral Modification

Artificial intelligence (AI) platforms can learn and predict effective interventions for people with chronic conditions to provide a customized care and more tailored therapy regimen. Digital therapeutics (DTx) combined with artificial intelligence and machine learning can allow more effective clinical observations and management for different cohorts. During this session, Dr. Mark Clements will explore how machine learning can:

- Help identify “at-risk” individuals

- Help identify optimal moments and approaches for nudging behaviors that drive outcomes

- Consider how Digital Therapeutics can be used to nudge individuals toward health-promoting behaviors
