Dr. Tomoyuki Kawamura, MD, is a lecturer of pediatric Department of Osaka City University in Japan. Dr. Kawamura is a pediatrician, diabetologist, and editorial board member of Pediatric Diabetes. He is the president of the Japan Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes. He has started the researches about the immunological etiology of type 1 diabetes, then expanded his research area to include epidemiological, advanced insulin therapy and socio-phycological aspects. He has a largest number of Type 1 diabetes patients using pump therapy in Japan containing all ages from infants to elderly. He has established the carbo-counting method for Japanese foods in 2005. He has been a member of MINT (Motivational interviewing network of trainers) since 2013. He gave more than 50 lectures each year on a various aspect of diabetes and supported many studies such as CGM and Pumps.
