Jay S. Skyler, MD, MACP is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College. He did postgraduate training at Duke and NIH. He is Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics, and Psychology at the University of Miami, and Deputy Director at the Diabetes Research Institute. For 22 years (1993-2015), he was Study Chairman for the NIH Diabetes Prevention Trial for T1D (DPT-1) and its successor the T1D TrialNet. He was President of the American Diabetes Association and Vice-President of the International Diabetes Federation. He was founding Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Care and founding Scientific Editor of the International Diabetes Monitor.
