Sinead Delany-Moretlwe, MBBCh PhD DTM&H is a clinical epidemiologist and Associate Professor & Director: Research at Wits RHI. Her experience is in sexual and reproductive health & HIV prevention research in sub-Saharan Africa. She has worked on several phase III trials of new HIV prevention technologies, & is currently protocol chair of a phase III trial of injectable cabotegravir for HIV prevention in women affiliated to HPTN. Dr Delany-Moretlwe has also worked on several implementation science studies of oral PrEP delivery for adolescent girls & young women. She is technical lead on a PEPFAR funded program aimed at strengthening HIV testing & linkage to care for adolescents in two districts in South Africa. Dr Delany-Moretlwe serves as a technical advisor on several national & WHO panels on a range of topics related to sexual & reproductive health & HIV. Her current research focus is on HIV prevention, & she continues to work on the development of strategies for the control of STIs.
