Eurasian Harm Reduction Association
Ivan has over 10 years professional experience in the field of public health, specializing in HIV prevention and human rights issues. In 2007, Ivan began working at the Russian Healthcare Foundation as one of the coordinators of the Global Fund Round 4 HIV projects in the Russian Federation, and, since then, he has worked on Global Fund-related processes in countries of the CEECA. In 2010, Ivan graduated from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) with a Master's Degree in Public Health.

Isolation can be a direct result of internalized stigma and, in turn, it impacts health and wellness as well as different forms of social participation including using health services and participating in community activities. Three different experiences will illustrate how social empowerment is key to personal resilience. The impact of isolation in people’s lives will demonstrate the challenges of isolation as well as how experiences of building social capital helped people to thrive and improve their quality of life.
