Plenary: Fighting HIV in the shadow of COVID-19. COVID-19 threatens to reverse the gains made in the response to HIV and AIDS. In 2020, we will likely see increases in new infections and deaths from AIDS-related causes for the first time in many years as health systems are overwhelmed, treatment and prevention programmes are disrupted, and resources are diverted. How do we protect and sustain progress in the fight against the HIV epidemic, and how do we ensure that we secure the resources needed to finish this fight, to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic and to save lives?
