I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the Trace Metals in Medicine group at the University of Warwick. I have a background in materials science, with expertise in applying advanced synchrotron techniques to characterise organic and inorganic material in post-mortem human brain tissue. My primary research interest is in investigating brain metal dysregulation, common to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, and the potential role of metal ions in underlying biochemical mechanisms.
