Prof. Jiong Shi is a faculty physician, Professor of Neurology, and Director of the Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Cognitive Disorders, Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He is also a professor at the Department for Clinical Neuroscience, University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He completed his residency and fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland and earned a PhD in pharmacodynamics at University of Florida. He sees patients with an array of dementias and other cognitive disorders, from Alzheimer’s disease to Lewy body dementia to frontotemporal dementia to normal pressure hydrocephalus. Prof. Shi’s research includes identifying finding novel biomarkers and therapeutic agents for Alzheimer’s disease. He has led more than 40 clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative disorders. Prof. Shi is a member of multiple medical societies, a member of the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART), as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN). He has dedicated considerable attention to education and continues teaching medical students, residents and fellows. He has published more than 60 articles, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Neurology, Neurology, and Stroke.
